1933 Low Chassis Invicta S124

1933 S Type Invicta

First Registered 13th January 1933

These wonderful and highly sort after cars very seldom come on the open market and I am honoured to have been asked to sell this superb S Type by an old friend and customer who has owned it since 1992. It is a superb original example with all known owners from new and a fascinating history file. It has been owned by many very well known collectors and from 1978 until 1985 it was in the Harrah collection. I have known the car since 1988 and it was looked after by my old company Cedar Classic Cars from 1989 to 1993. It has featured in several magazines and also in the prestigous Automobile Quarterly.

In 1991 it competed in the 1200 mile "Colorado Grand" and then it was raced at Lime Rock finishing 2nd to a Type 51 Bugatti. It has competed in and finished the Mille Miglia no less than 9 times in 1989,90,91,92,94,96,97,2001 and 2004. The present owner also competed in the Rally de Voitures Anciennes de Monte Carlo three times finishing 2nd overall on all three occasions. Throughout this amazing competition career S 124 perfomed perfectly and never suffered any mechanical problems.

The present owner is a mechanical engineer who has maintained the car to a superlative standard and it is impossible to fault it's condition.

This is a unique opportunity to acquire a low chassis Invicta that is without doubt the most campaigned and reliable one that I have ever known.

1939 Daimler DB 18 Abbott D.H.C

Registration Number FDU 97

Car Number 49543

Engine No KW51/4000

This very interesting and beautiful car was built in 1939 but not bodied until 1944 after the end of WW2. At this time the present drop head body was built by the well known coachbuilder Abbotts of Farnham and the car was registered FDU 97. It is one of only two with this particular very pretty body.

The first owner is not known, but the car was owned by a Mr Webb of Weymouth from 1952 to 1954. In October 1985 it was sold in Switzerland and totally restored over a period of one and a half years. From May 1987 it was in one family ownership in Germany until sold to the present owner in August 2004.

It has been very carefuly maintained by the present owner who has a collection of Bentleys and has been used on continental tours and rallies. It is in superb mechanical and original cosmetic condition.

The original registration number is retained and can be re-allocated to the car if it returns to the United Kingdom.
