Dunhill Pipes

This page illustrates some of the Dunhill pipes in my collection. My main interests are Dunhills, Comoy's, Ashtons, Charatan, Ferndowns. The Comoys in my collection are illustrated on page 2 and page 3 provides an illustrated history of Comoys. The Ashtons are on page 4 and page 5 shows an assortment of other pipes.

I have a particular fondness for cased sets, because I feel these give a much greater feel for a bygone age and a case somehow shows the pipes off to their advantage.

Although I have over 100 Dunhill pipes, these cannot compete with John Lorings wonderful collection. John is the acknowledged expert and has written the definitive book "The Dunhill Briar Pipe - The Patent Years and After" I would highly recommend his site at www.loringpage.com

Some years ago, I was fortunate to find on eBay this wonderfull Dunhill chest that holds 50 pipes. It is veneered in walnut and dates from the 1930,s.

I bought my first Dunhill about 53 years ago and then could not afford another until in the 1970,s I found a great chap who sold estate pipes in Antiquarious in London. I then rapidly increased my collection!

As can be seen I now have no difficulty filling it!
