Derek Green - Car Broker - Invicta and Lagonda Specialist.

Many visitors to the site will already know me by name and reputation, but for those who don’t, perhaps I should explain more.  My wife always tells me I had a Boy’s Own childhood, growing up wildfowling and shooting and surrounded by vintage cars and motorcycles.

As a pilot in the Fleet Air Arm in the 1950s and 60's,
I flew Sea Fires and Seafuries as well as ..............

........ Seavixens and 35 other types of aircraft during my 12 years service which included operational tours in Korea and Suez.

During this period I owned a 2 litre Aston Martin and then a 4.5 litre W.O.Bentley. Prior to the cars I had ridden an assortment of motorcycles including BSA, Douglas and Triumphs and still get great pleasure today from riding my Vincent Black Shadow and Honda Fireblade.

In 1968 I finished flying and became an antique dealer. Cedar Antiques in Hartley Wintney specialized in Country Furniture of the 18th and 19th centuries. Although we have sold the shop, the company still exists today run by my wife Sally in conjunction with her own interiors business, Sally Green Designs.

In the mid 70s I rekindled my passion for motor cars, buying, restoring and racing E Type Jaguars. I restored my first 2 litre Lagonda and an Aston Martin International and with these cars we entered and won many major Concours events.

An S Type Invicta joined the stable and was again restored to Concours winning standard. It was at this point that other people started asking if I would restore their cars to the same high standard.

In 1986 I formed Cedar Classic Cars Ltd and we opened for business just outside the village of Hartley Wintney. Since that time the company has become well known for high quality restorations on all makes of vintage and classic cars, but especially Invictas and Lagondas.

At the age of 73, I decided it was high time to semi- retire and I have sold the restoration side of Cedar Classic Cars to Brian Stevens and Sue Wilkinson. I shall remain as a consultant for the new company, Cedar Classic and Vintage Cars Ltd. www.classic-vintagecars.com

Over the years I have become well known as a broker of fine motor cars. Some of the cars that I have sold can be seen here. I will continue to offer for sale on a commision basis the best Vintage and Classic cars on the "Car Broker" page of this new web site.

Semi retirement will allow me to spend more time enjoying my own cars and motorcycles and to pursue some of my other interests that share this web site.

My wife Sally and son Tim often accuse me of becoming a "Grumpy Old Man" as I complain about the Nanny State and general incompetance of our politicians and I may well air some of my thoughts here!
